The Houston Comets are returning! Nearly two decades after the city’s WNBA franchise disbanded back in 2008, the Comets are slated to return to H-Town in 2027. Rockets owner Tilman Fertitta’s company entered into an agreement to purchase the Connecticut Sun, with plans to move the team to the Toyota Center to revive the Comets ahead of the 2027 WNBA season.
Lance McCullers Jr. turned back the clock this past Monday in an 8-1 win over the Boston Red Sox. After injuries forced the all-star pitcher out of action for two-and-a-half years and plagued his return to the mound last season, McCullers pitched a gem in his longest outing since 2022. He struck out 9 batters across 7 innings to help propel Houston to the win.
